1. Data Collection and Use

Information you provide

Confluent may collect:

• Contact and business details: name, email, phone, address, job title, employer, and location.
• Account data: username, password, user/team ID, and authentication information.
• Payment information: payment processors such as Stripe collect card and payment details.
• Communications and support data: emails, chat messages, support tickets, free-text form entries, social-media communications, and information provided during customer-support interactions.
• Meeting information: audio/video recordings, transcripts, summaries, and meeting metadata where applicable.
• Marketing information: communication preferences and event registrations.
• Third-party information: data supplied by affiliates, marketing databases, LinkedIn, business partners, event sponsors, or other users who identify you as a technical, billing, or support contact.

Automatically collected information

The policy also covers:

• IP address, device identifiers, operating system, browser, log data, access times, clicks, pages viewed, referrer information, and product configuration.
• Approximate location derived from IP address or device settings.
• Product telemetry and diagnostic information.
• Inferences about your location, preferences, company, or likely product needs.

Purposes

Confluent uses this information to provide and secure its Sites and Products, process transactions, provide support, communicate service notices, operate events, improve products, analyze usage, prevent fraud, comply with law, enforce usage terms, and conduct marketing and personalized advertising.

Service and security communications generally cannot be opted out of. Promotional communications can usually be stopped through unsubscribe links or the preference center.

2. User Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access or know what personal information is held about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete information, subject to legal exceptions.
• Obtain data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict processing.
• Withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the legal basis.
• Opt out of personalized advertising and, for California residents, certain cookie-related “sales” or “sharing.”

Requests may be submitted through Confluent’s request form or privacy@confluent.io. Confluent may verify identity and may refuse or limit requests where legally permitted. “Do Not Track” browser signals are not currently honored.

3. Third-Party Sharing

Information may be shared with:

• Confluent affiliates and subsidiaries.
• Event sponsors, co-sponsors, research firms, and advisory partners.
• Vendors providing hosting, payment, support, communications, conferencing, marketing, backup, registration, learning, and professional services.
• Advertising networks, exchanges, and social-media platforms.
• Authorities, courts, or law enforcement when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights and security.
• Buyers or counterparties in mergers, acquisitions, financing, bankruptcy, or similar transactions.

Cookies and advertising technologies may make identifiers such as IP addresses and cookie IDs available to advertising partners. Under California’s broad definitions, this may qualify as a “sale” or “share,” even though Confluent says it does not sell information for money.

Data may be processed in the United States and numerous other countries, including through international-transfer safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

4. AI/ML Training

The Notice does not state that user personal information is used to train general-purpose AI models. It does state that Confluent may use AI tools to:

• Create meeting notes, summaries, and action items.
• Document customer interactions.
• Improve business processes.
• Generate responses to support requests.

The policy does not clearly explain whether support communications, meeting content, or product data are retained for model improvement or whether customer data is excluded from training. Users should seek clarification or review applicable product/customer agreements, particularly before sharing confidential information.

6. Liability and Disputes

This Notice is not a comprehensive liability agreement and does not specify damages caps, warranties, governing law, or court/arbitration rules for ordinary disputes. It expressly states that security systems are not impenetrable and that Confluent cannot guarantee security.

For EU, UK, and Swiss individuals covered by the Data Privacy Framework, unresolved privacy complaints may be referred to JAMS at no cost, with limited circumstances allowing binding arbitration before a DPF panel. Regulatory complaints may also be available.

7. Changes

Confluent may update the Notice periodically. It will change the “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice or obtain consent where legally required. Users are expected to review the page periodically; the policy does not promise direct notice for every change.

4. AI/ML Training

The Terms do not state whether user data, submitted Content, usage data, or ideas are used to train AI or machine-learning models.

However, Content submitted to the Confluent Hub receives a broad license allowing Confluent to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, display, perform, adapt, and incorporate it into other works, worldwide, perpetually, irrevocably, and without royalties. This could permit broad reuse, although it does not expressly mention AI training.

Practical precaution: Do not submit confidential, personal, proprietary, or sensitive information unless you are comfortable with this license and have the necessary rights.

• Confluent generally disclaims responsibility for outages, inaccuracies, security breaches, malware, third-party conduct, and downloaded content or Components.
• Indirect, consequential, punitive, special, and similar damages are excluded where legally permitted.
